Do you know God can give you exactly what you prayed for? Do you know He’s done that with people before? It’s hard to keep bowing our heads, closing our eyes, and speaking our requests when we don’t see any change from it. You question whether your prayers make any difference. But I want you to read these 10 verses. Let them remind you that when you ask for something in prayer, God can give you exactly what you want sometimes.
Genesis 20:17 “Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his maids, so that they bore children.”
Genesis 25:21 “Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD answered him and Rebekah his wife conceived.”
Numbers 11:2 “The people therefore cried out to Moses, and Moses prayed to the LORD and the fire died out.”
1 Sam 1:27 “For this boy I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of Him.”
2 Kings 6:17 “Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
2 Kings 6:18 “When they came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, “Strike this people with blindness, I pray.” So He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.”
2 Chronicles 33:13 “When he prayed to Him, He was moved by his entreaty and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.”
Job 42:10 “The LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD increased all that Job had twofold.”
James 5:17 “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.”
James 5:18 “Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.”
I hope this encourages you to keep on praying. Keep bowing your head, keep closing your eyes, and keep lifting your hands to the Lord. Believe that He can choose to give you exactly what you prayed for. You never know. That next prayer you pray might be the one.
Peace to all those who are in Christ.
