It was an epiphany that just kind of came to me recently, but my ultimate pleasure in life is glorifying God. When I’m reading scripture, when I’m praying, and when I’m continuing to obey God more with each thought and action that I know pleases Him, I’m happy and at peace. It doesn’t matter what’s going on in my life now or what will happen in my life in the future. Even if God has set my life for difficulty of the likes of Apostle Paul being beaten and jailed, or tragedy of the likes of Stephen being stoned to death, I believe and trust God, and I just want His will to be fulfilled. When I fulfill that will in whatever way it’s supposed to be done through my obedience to the Word, and when I continually encourage others to obey God’s Word more, I’m good. And really, I think this can be true for all of us. When you dedicate yourself completely to God and His Word daily and as consistently as possible in everything you think and do, that is the ultimate pleasure. An ultimate pleasure beyond any desire you could ever receive in your life.
Peace to you all in Christ.
